Helping a healthcare leader take care through mergers and a major tower project.

Install & beyond:
When it came time to add a fourth patient tower with 214,000 square feet and 96 patient beds to the Chandler Regional Medical Center campus, our familiarity with the Dignity Health brand made us an ideal signage and graphics partner. We planned, designed, and implemented wayfinding and experiential graphics to reflect the friendly minimalism and reinforce comfort, care and connection.
The tower is just one project in an ongoing collaboration. Takeform was a partner in an expansive Built Environment Improvement Project – across 36 hospitals – for Dignity Health. A merger with Catholic Health Initiatives to form CommonSpirit Health, a Chicago-based nonprofit, brought new ways for us to show up and shine across 21 states.

Capabilities applied
Wayfinding
Helping guide visitors between new and old was an essential ask. Our wayfinding team also understood our task included making those where-to moments also spark brand cohesion across the entire property.
Experiential Graphic Design
Through engagements with Dignity and later CommonSpirit, our design team has developed flexible yet stringent signage and graphics standards. Layered into the new space, these standards systems will continue to serve this far-reaching parent brand and the supporting brands moving forward.
Engineering
Our engineering team created a custom graphic floor identification system for the six nurse stations in the new patient tower for Chandler Regional Medical Center. This on-brand touchpoint helps patients and visitors feel connected and confident because they know they're in the right place.
Project Management
The Chandler Regional Medical Center was a challenging three-year, two-phase project which included a new five-level parking garage and 250,000 square foot patient tower expansion to existing hospital. Takeform's design-build model gives our project managers control over every aspect of the project ensuring the project is on spec and on schedule. Our dedicated Dignity health team's holistic approach – with broad vision and deep experience – ensures the success of each individual project and the larger brand relationship.
Products
Graphic Panels | Moxie
At Chandler Regional Medical, Moxie Graphic Panels serve two purposes. Artful yet functional wayfinding elements guide patients, visitors and staff on a journey of healing. Each floor was also paired with botanical imagery that is inviting, soothing and harkens to Arizona's iconic, diverse desertscapes.
Dimensional Logos and Lettering | Ethos
Throughout the facility, Ethos Dimensional Logos provide a refined, consistent touchpoint. At important interaction points – such as lobbies, reception desks, and nurses’ stations – patients, visitors and facility staff know they're in good hands. When applied as wayfinding elements, Ethos Dimensional Letters are an understated extension of the minimalism found in the brand standards of Dignity Health. At the same time, when used for moving messaging, they deliver artistic and healing inspiration.
ADA and Wayfinding Signage | Attend
Patient room signs work hard from the outside, keeping the clutter of busy hallways at a minimum and communication at a maximum. Our Attend product allows for discrete, concise updates of condition, needs and alerts for all patients.
Patient Room Boards | Additions
In each of the new 96 patient rooms, Dignity Health branded dry-erase boards from our durable Additions line provide brand consistency and facilitate easy communication.
Exterior Signage | Signify
We unified existing facilities with the new tower wayfinding signage. Signify signage effortlessly guides people and creates a cohesive experience that complements brand. Added to that –custom-fabricated, large-scale, illuminated logomark and typography that provides impressive on-building branding.
